Le récit de Wood occupe les p. 143-196 de la 1re partie et a pour titre de départ : "A Relation of a voyage for the discovery of a passage by the North-East to Japan and China, performed in H. M. ship the" Speedwel, "and" Prosperous "pink", anno Domini "1676. Where is shewed the reasons and grounds of the probability of a passage, before the attempt, with some good observations made in the said voyage, by Captain John Wood", le journal de bord même de Wood occupant les p. 155-169, tandis que les p. 171-183 sont occupées par le journal du capitaine William Flawes, commandant du 2e navire de l'expédition.
