This six views of the most remarkable places in the gulf and river of St. Laurence are most humbly inscribed by his most obedient humble servant Hervey Smyth, aide du camp to the late Gnl [general] Wolfe / View of Quebec City from the St. Lawrence River. Includes the location of the St. Charles River and General James Wolfe's landing place before the battle of the Plains of Abraham. Built environment includes fortified settlement, dwellings, churches, shipyard, ships with British flags, boats, and windmills. Items in the image are numbered for identification in text below. Vue de la ville de Québec à partir du fleuve Saint Laurent. Inclut la localisation de la rivière Saint Charles, et le lieu de débarquement du Général Wolfe, avant la bataille des plaines d'Abraham. Les constructions comprennent points fortifiés, habitations, églises, chantier naval, navires avec drapeaux britanniques, moulins à vent. Éléments de l'image, numérotés pour identification grâce au texte sous l'image / Hervey Smyth was an aide de camp to General James Wolfe. The Canadian landscapes engraved by Smyth were also included in a collection of views published by John Bowles, which are known collectively as Scenographia Americana (1768). Smyth's drawings were drawn on the spot and juxtaposed the British forces against dramatic Canadian landscapes. Hervey Smyth, était un un aide de camp du Général Wolf, il dessinait sur site, troupes britanniques dans les paysages canadiens.
