Includes the location of the St. Charles River and General James Wolfe's landing place before the battle of the Plains of Abraham. Built environment includes fortified settlement, dwellings, churches, shipyard, ships with British flags, boats, and windmills. Items in the image are numbered for identification in text below. The Canadian landscapes engraved by Smyth were also included in a collection of views published by John Bowles, which are known collectively as Scenographia Americana (1768). Smyth's drawings were drawn on the spot and juxtaposed the British forces against dramatic Canadian landscapes.
